Healthworks Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is required to efficiently pump blood around the body. However, sustained increases in blood pressure – including while the body is at rest – presents as a health issue, namely, ‘hypertension.’ Hypertension enhances the risk of developing coronary heart disease, stroke, heart failure, and peripheral vascular disease by two- to three-fold. Elevated blood pressure affects 29% or 3.6 million Australians aged twenty-five years and over, and accounts for 5% and 6% of overall disease and injury amongst men and women, respectively.

Healthworks Blood Pressure discusses significant issues of blood pressure, including methods of its detection, underlying causes such as diet, family history, and lack of exercise, and strategies helpful in its avoidance and management, potentially fatal consequences, and support available for those affected.

Princeton Publishing has co-operated with Heart Support Australia (HAS) to produce Healthworks Blood Pressure.
