Healthworks Tummy Trouble

Eating and drinking are among life’s greatest pleasures. Gastrointestinal (GI) disorders are hence met with despair. Ranging from heartburn and constipation, to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), “tummy troubles” affect one in three Australian adults. The types of food and drink, and the way they are consumed can hinder or help healing, recovery, and long-term health of a person. Education of the body’s basic digestive processes is therefore essential.

Healthworks Tummy Troubles appropriately highlights the range of disorders concerning the gastrointestinal tract; anatomically presents the lifecycle of food and drink once consumed; details possible prevention of GI disorders through a high-fibre diet; and methodically considers a number of GI conditions coupled with suggestions of their management and prevention.

Healthworks Tummy Troubles was written by Dr Rosemary Stanton –a celebrated Australian dietitian, author of numerous nutrition texts for both educational and general public use, and promoter of good health and well-being.
